Story – Little Xerah – Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

The New Power

Xerah sat in her room, staring at her square nails. She remembered the days when she was constantly bullied at school. She was a small and weak girl, always picked on by the bigger kids. But then she grew her nails out and started shaping them into sharp points. It was her way of defending herself and gaining respect from her classmates. No one dared to mess with her anymore. She became known as the “Nail Queen” of her school.

Now, with her grandmother’s situation with the Hive Five, Xerah felt like she needed to step up once again. She needed to use her nails as a weapon to protect her family. She decided to reshape them into sharp points once again, even though her grandmother had told her to trim them.

Xerah grabbed her nail file and started working on her nails. She filed them down to sharp points, making sure they were even and symmetrical. She tested them out on the wooden table in her room, leaving deep scratches in the surface.

She felt a surge of power as she looked at her newly sharpened nails. She knew that with these nails, she could take on anyone. She felt like a warrior, ready for battle.

Two days had passed since her grandmother’s encounter with the Hive Five. Her grandmother had been in bed, recovering from the injuries she sustained during the attack. But on the third day, she decided to go back to the market to sell her vegetables. Xerah knew that it was dangerous for her to go alone, so she asked to go with her.

Grandmother hesitated at first, worried about Xerah’s safety. But Xerah insisted, telling her that she was strong and could protect them. She showed her grandmother her newly sharpened nails, and her grandmother reluctantly agreed.

They left the house together, Xerah walking confidently beside her grandmother. They carried a basket of vegetables, ready to sell at the market. As they walked down the dirt road, Xerah kept a close eye out for the Hive Five. She was ready for a fight if they tried to attack again.

As they reached the market, Xerah scanned the area for any signs of trouble. She saw the Hive Five hanging out by the entrance, eyeing them up and down. Xerah felt a surge of adrenaline as she prepared for a fight.

But to her surprise, the Hive Five didn’t make a move. They simply watched as Xerah and her grandmother set up their stall and started selling their vegetables. Xerah kept her guard up, but nothing happened.

As the day went on, Xerah realized that her sharpened nails weren’t the only weapon she had. Her determination and strength also made her powerful. She stood tall and confident, ready to take on anyone who tried to mess with her or her family.

After a successful day at the market, Xerah and her grandmother returned home, exhausted but proud of their hard work. Xerah had proven to herself and her grandmother that she was strong and capable, with or without her sharpened nails.

That night, Xerah went to bed feeling content and powerful. She had learned that true strength came from within, not just from physical weapons like her nails. She fell asleep dreaming of a bright future, filled with endless possibilities.

Xerah and her grandmother were on their way back from the market when they encountered the Hive Five. The gang of teenagers had been causing trouble in the village for a long time, and their reputation was notorious. Xerah had heard stories about them, but she had never met them face to face.

The following day, when Xerah and her grandmother were returning from the market after selling vegetables, they encountered Hive Five. This encounter shattered Xerah’s hopes for a peaceful existence.

The leader of the Hive Five, a tall and lanky boy named Neo, stepped forward and demanded money from Xerah and her grandmother. Xerah stood in front of her grandmother, her sharp and pointed nails glinting in the sunlight. She could feel the power surging through her fingers, and she knew that she could take down the entire gang if she had to.

Neo gestured to the other members of the Hive Five, who closed in around Xerah and her grandmother. Xerah could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she prepared to fight. She knew that her grandmother was counting on her to protect her, and she would not let her down.

Without warning, Vole, the smallest member of the gang, lunged at Xerah. She sidestepped his attack and lashed out with her right hand, her nails slicing through Vole’s shirt and sinking deep into his arm. The young boy cried out in pain as Xerah twisted her hand, making the wounds deeper.

Xerah kicked out with her right foot, and her sharp toenails dug into Vole’s calf. The boy screamed and fell to the ground, blood pouring from his wounds. Xerah sneered at the Hive Five, and they took a step back, their confidence shaken.

Xerah’s eyes turned red with anger as she faced the members of the Hive Five. Her body trembled with adrenaline as she prepared to fight them off. Her sharpened nails were her weapon, and she knew she had the power to take them down.

The other members of the gang closed in on Xerah and when the first member of Hive Five charged at Xerah, she was quick to react. She dodged his attack and slashed him across the face with her sharp nails. The blood trickled down his cheek as he stumbled backward in shock.

The rest members were taken aback by Xerah’s display of strength. They hesitated for a moment before charging at her all at once. But Xerah was ready for them.

She lashed out with both hands, her nails flashing in the sunlight. She sliced through their clothes and drew blood from their skin, leaving them cowering and afraid.

And she leapt into the air and brought her hands down in a powerful strike, her nails sinking deep into the ground. Then she scratched deeply, leaving five traces of her right hand nail on the ground. The members of Hive Five were immediately scared to urinate, and they ran in all directions.

Xerah’s nails were not just long, they were strong and sharp. She had spent years training them to be a weapon. Her nails could tear through fabric and flesh alike, and she knew how to use them to her advantage.

As Hive Five scattered and retreated, Xerah stood in the road, her chest heaving with the excitement of the fight. She raised her right hand, full of mud, and blew it away with her mouth, feeling the exhilaration of her newfound power. She turned back to her grandmother and said, “Let’s go home.”

Grandma looked at Xerah, her eyes filled with pride and love. She knew that her granddaughter had finally found her own strength, and she was glad to see her standing up for herself. Together, they walked back to their small house, the sun setting behind them. Xerah felt a sense of accomplishment, knowing that she had overcome her fear and had become a force to be reckoned with.

As they entered the house, Xerah couldn’t wait to take care of her nails, to sharpen them even more, and to prepare for the battles that lay ahead.
